About the role;
As a Business Intelligence Consultant, you will work on all aspects of implementation and support of client facing BI Projects. You will be expected to carry out presales activity as well as leading the full consultancy cycle. Post go-live, you will also support as an escalation point for 3rd line technical queries.
You must be competent in solution design and delivery of products such as Power BI, Fabric and Qlik Sense. This is a home-based role, national travel will be required therefore a valid full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
-
Deliver end to end cloud BI & analytics projects using agile and iterative methodologies
-
Support the sales cycle via discovery sessions, solution design and effort estimation
-
Scope, analyse, and requirements gathering to design appropriate BI solutions
-
Translate business goals into scalable dashboard and reports, backed by data warehouses and sematic models, using technologies such as Azure SQLDB, Azure Data Factory, Power bi, Microsoft Fabric, and/or Qlik Cloud

Install, upgrade and configure Qlik and Microsoft BI products

Implement BI solutions to meet the customers requirement

Build user friendly, functional, attractive dashboards using data visualisation techniques

Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal upskilling of sales teams

Provide 3rd‑line support and continuous‑improvement services post go‑live
-
Design and develop intuitive, performant dashboards and reports that follow UX best practices with Power BI and/or Qlik Sense

Run enablement workshops and deliver hands‑on training to upskill client teams
-
Build and automate data ingestion, transformation and orchestration with Azure Data Factory / Fabric Data Factory, Synapse or equivalent

Produce Proof‑of‑Concepts and prototypes
Knowledge, Skills & Experience;
-
Certifications welcome but not mandatory, such as – DP-203, DP‑600, DP-700, PL‑300, Qlik Sense Data Analyst or similar

Strong demonstratable experience of developing, implementing and supporting solutions within Microsoft BI related products
-
Strong SQL plus DAX, Power Query (M) and/or Qlik scripting. Python is a bonus
-
Proven ability to create clear, engaging dashboards with a user‑centric design flair
-
Qlik Administration/Power BI Administration/Windows Server administration experience would be preferred
-
Understanding of cloud computing environments (Azure)
-
Knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript libraries would be preferred
-
Hands‑on delivery of production BI solutions on either cloud or on‑prem stacks – skills are transferable, so in-depth knowledge of any modern platform is valuable

Cloud examples: Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Qlik Cloud, Databricks

On‑prem examples: SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Qlik Sense / QlikView

Solid dimensional / Kimball data‑modelling skills

Strong communication skills both written and verbal
