About the role;

As a Business Intelligence Support and Delivery Consultant, you will work on the technical support aspects of customer facing BI Projects. This will include dealing with telephone and report support to customers, involvement in presales and requirements gathering to installation, configuration and support of environments, and the build of data infrastructure. This is a varied role with scope for varied work.  
 
As a Practice, we aim to deliver business improvement and efficiency to customers in a wide range of industries. In the Delivery elements of this role, you will focus on extracting, modelling and presenting data in dashboards and reports, which answer the key questions the customer has, taking their data and turning it into knowledge, information and wisdom.
 
You will be exposed to projects and support cases on a variety of product stacks, such Qlik Sense, Power BI and Azure, either individually or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, depending on project size and scope. This role requires experience of the stack specified. This is a hybrid position, you will be expected to attend our Newcastle upon Tyne office a couple of times per week for regular team collaboration time so you must be within a close travelling distance of this location.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
 
  • Provide world class technical guidance and support to customers, as measured by our NPS system
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and problems via telephone, email and remote access within the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Implementing change requests and small works in solutions developed in Qlik Sense, QlikView, Qlik NPrinting, Power BI, SQL Server (SSIS/SSRS)
  • Lead on consultancy as a service activities for our customer base, showcasing the latest technological advances and identifying areas of improvement
  • Problem analysis, investigation work and following instructions to repair a fault
  • Classification, management, and escalation of support issues
  • Identify trends and report accordingly
  • Working with our BI Consultants, being involved in end to end Business Intelligence (BI) projects, using an agile methodology
  • Install, upgrade and configure Qlik and Microsoft BI products
  • Maintain relevant documentation for our customer base, i.e. from what their solution does to any regular processes that need to be ran
  • Extract data from various data sources, building ETL processes and data models
  • Build user friendly, functional, yet beautiful dashboards and reports using data visualisation techniques
  • Act as the escalation point for the TSG Service Desk, to resolve customer BI issues and queries
  • UK wide travel and overnight stays may be required to meet customer requirements 
  • Proactively manage personal development and up-skilling of technical abilities
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team to develop and grow their skillset
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience;                       
 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal
  • Excellent telephone manner and customer focused attitude
  • ETL, SQL and Data warehousing skills
  • Data modelling
  • Experience of similar role (Support and/or Consultancy)
  • Experience of supporting customers, resolving issues and problems, and implementing small works and change requests
  • Experience of developing BI solutions
  • Experience of extracting data from multiple data sources and building dimensional models.
  • Experience of building visualisations and dashboards
  • Qlik and Microsoft certifications would be an advantage
  • Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field degree would be an advantage
  • At least 2 years’ experience of supporting solutions using Business Intelligence tools, such as: Qlik Sense / QlikView – Qlik Script, Set Analysis, ETL methodologies, dashboard design, SaaS deployments and server administration. SQL Server – SSRS, SSIS, SSAS. Power BI – Power Query (M), DAX, ETL methodologies, dashboard design and Power BI Service administration
  • Full valid UK driving license
