About the role;

The Chief Technologist is a senior role responsible for ensuring the alignment of our client’s technology strategy with business goals. To be successful in this role you will have strong technical skillset across Microsoft Azure, Security, Managed Services and Modern Workplace technologies.
 
As part of the TSG’s extended leadership team, you will have strong business and commercial acumen as well as the ability to engage well at all levels of an organisation. You will be involved in a high degree of pre-sales and client engagement at C-suite and board level and will be responsible for the creation and lifecycle management of our client’s roadmaps.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
 
  • Develop and implement our client’s technology strategy in alignment with business objectives
  • Lead on providing our clients with strategic oversight, developing 12-month plus IT road maps to ensure that their journey is seamless and aligned with their long-term objectives
  • Meticulously define IT initiatives to drive value for our clients
  • Supporting our clients leverage technology solutions and producing strategic reports
  • Engage TSG clients and prospects in a consultative manner to identify and advise suitable technology solutions and propositions
  • Lead aspects of technical awareness and communication across TSG and our clients
  • Support wider sales team in product knowledge
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and growth
  • Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors and partners
  • Assist the CTO in updating and developing our product stack offerings
  • Production of high-quality customer communication and proposal documentation as individual and within a team
  • Deliver client presentations and presales demos
  • Write documentation to high standard
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience;                       
 
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Azure, Managed Services, Security and Modern Workplace
  • Strong strategic thinker and good problem-solving abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies, related to the Microsoft product stack
  • Significant experience in a senior technology / leadership role within a Managed Services Provider
  • High level of appropriate Microsoft Cloud, Security, Managed Services and Modern Workplace skills and experience
  • Demonstrable track-record in client facing role – sales and in-life solution design and articulation, specifically within Microsoft Azure, Security, Managed Services and Modern Workplace
  • Awareness and appreciation of the solution sales process with the ability to articulate to the appropriate audience.
  • Comfortable presenting to internal and external clients at all levels
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent PowerPoint skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and a broad understanding of client business issues
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent
  • Industry standard accreditations for Microsoft and sales or presales certifications would be desirable
  • Full driving licence
