About the role
 
As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will help contribute to the Security practice’s growth journey.
 
The Cyber Security Consultant will work across a variety of different sectors and be involved in all aspects of client delivery, ranging from conducting cyber security assessments and gap analyses; working alongside Sales and Security colleagues to deliver commercial value and they’ll also help ensure the smooth delivery of client workstreams. Given their experience in a similar role, they will also be able to bring new ideas, products and services that will help TSG evolve its cyber offering. They’ll also use their expertise to help keep TSG cyber resilient.
 
The successful candidate will ideally come from a technical background and will work alongside the CISO and Security Team to help develop and deliver security strategies for TSG’s clients.
 
This is a home-based role with some travel required when necessary.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
 
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer and the Cyber Team to develop customised security strategies and solutions based on each client's specific needs and environment.
  • Act as a key point of contact between TSG and its clients, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Work with TSG’s internal teams to ensure our delivery meets the clients' expectations in terms of scope, timelines, and quality, and maintain a high level of client satisfaction
  • Perform comprehensive vulnerability assessments of client systems to identify potential security risks.
  • Assist with the implementation of security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Managed Detection and Response (MDR), anti-virus software, and data loss prevention programs.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to clients on topics such as technical security governance, incident response, and security awareness training.
  • Assist with proactive measures around value-added security services such as writing briefings, threat reporting and marketing collateral
  • Take (joint/) ownership of security-related workstreams, ensuring they are effectively managed and coordinated.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, threats, and security technologies to ensure the company's services are current and effective.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients on cyber and information security-related topics
  • Prepare clear and concise security reports and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Assist with writing briefings, threat reporting and related collateral for marketing efforts.
  • Manage multiple client workstreams and interface directly with end clients as required.
  • Work with Leadership, Cyber and Sales Teams to respond to tenders/ projects and provide pre-sales support when needed.
  • Quality Assure other consultants work when required.
  • Provide mentoring and career development to junior team members when the opportunity arises.
 
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience;                       
 
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are preferred, as is exposure to GRC frameworks including (but not limited to) ISO27001; NIST, CIS benchmarks & Cyber Essentials / Plus.
  • Demonstrable experience of working on multiple client engagements in a client-facing capacity and alongside Sales, Presales and Technical functions
  • Comfortable taking ownership of client-led workstreams and seeing them through to completion, acting in a proactive and professional manner
  • Proven experience in a similar role in cybersecurity consultancy, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and standards.
  • Proficiency with common cybersecurity tools and technologies, and a strong knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, trends, and mitigation strategies
  • Experience in developing cyber security strategy and frameworks
  • Comfortable influencing outcomes and building business cases for investment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and quickly under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences and meet client expectations. Exposure to C-level audiences would be preferred.
  • Good general knowledge of IT systems covering traditional infrastructure and cloud/ SaaS platforms.
