About the role;

As a Dynamics NAV/BC Support Developer you will be responsible for providing support to customers and internal colleagues for a range of Microsoft Dynamics Nav/BC Products and third-party add-ons.
This includes maintaining bespoke solutions for Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV)/ Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) software in accordance with customer requirements and providing specialist support for customers’ bespoke applications.
This is a home-based role; ideally, we are looking for you to be within close travelling distance from one of our offices in Glasgow, Newcastle upon Tyne, or London for regular collaboration time.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
 
  • Responding to and resolving Nav/BC support queries via telephone, email, and remote access
  • Responding to telephone calls or emails from customers on the support helpdesk to work towards resolving cases
  • Investigate appropriate solutions to customer requirements and prepare detailed specifications for review by consultants and customers
  • Provide estimates of development activities for change requests
  • Produce software source code to specifications, adhering to coding standards
  • Providing support to aid colleagues in call resolution using development skills to query and modify code extensions where required
  • Call Management and prioritisation to ensure service level agreements are met
  • Problem analysis and data investigation
  • Attendance at Handover meetings with the Projects team to assist with a smooth transition to support
  • Keeping up to date with latest software
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience;                       
 
  • Certification in Nav Financials & NAV BC Extensions Development preferred
  • Accounting Qualifications or background preferred
  • Knowledge of associated Nav/BC products would be an advantage
  • Attention to detail, great analytical skills with a confident pro-active approach to work
  • Ability to determine root cause, propose solutions and make preventative suggestions to deliver outcomes
  • Experience with remote access software and associated technologies essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Maintenance plans
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience of developing and supporting bespoke solutions for NAV and BC
  • Hands-on Extensions 2.0 development
  • Experience Developing extensions for On-prem vs Saas
  • Broad understanding of ERP functions
  • Overview of AL development language (and differences from C/AL)
  • The ability to manage personal workload and work to your own initiative
  • Good working knowledge of databases would be an advantage
  • Proven track record of experience on Microsoft Dynamics Nav/BC essential, min 2 years
  • Experience of Spindle, Jet Reports, Continia Document Capture and Expenses, Dime Scheduler or/and Zetadocs
