About the role;

Internal System Support Engineering's are responsible for all technical aspects of maintaining and operating a complex and varied technical environment which underpins and enables the TSG business. 
 
As an Engineer you will provide hands on management of TSG’s infrastructure and business applications supporting over 300 users ensuring a consistent approach to operating secure, reliable and performant systems.
 
This role is instrumental in driving the modernisation of all our systems, tooling, and our approach to operating: From a hybrid model of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure to cloud first and only (Azure) automated and immutable infrastructure.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
 
Outlined below is a list of the duties incorporated in order to carry out this role effectively. You won’t need to be familiar with all of the following to be successful as you will learn and develop these on the job, the most important consideration is that you’ll be working with people who care passionately about what they do, and you should too.
 
Systems Management;
 
Proactively manage and maintain the internal systems and tools including but not limited to;
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Windows 10 and 11
  • Business and Microsoft applications
  • Monitoring and alerting systems
  • Network, Wi-Fi and firewalls systems
  • Backup solutions
  • Cloud subscriptions
 
Operational Management;
  • Ensure infrastructure, servers and laptops are secure and operating correctly
  • Maximize best use of TSGs assets (software and hardware)
  • Assist with business continuity planning and testing
  • Ensure that all office technical facilities are kept up to date and usable
 
Service Management;
  • Triage and handle customer incidents and requests to SLA whilst maintaining a good communication with customer
  • Establish a clear root-cause of incidents to eliminate the possibility of recurrence
  • Contribute to an effective knowledge base to allow earlier resolution of incidents and more effective support for applications
 
Knowledge, Skills & Experience;                       
 
  • Management and support of Microsoft Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems
  • Microsoft Modern Device Management tools such as Intune and Autopilot etc
  • Microsoft 365 products
  • Operating System Update Management
  • PowerShell, TCP/IP Networking, DNS, DHCP and SSL
  • Minimum of 3 years’ commercial experience in a second or third-line desktop, infrastructure, or server support role
