Job Purpose & Responsibilities;


As an Internal Systems Support Engineer you will provide support and have hands on management of TSG’s IT Infrastructure. Working on a hybrid basis you will have great communication skills and be a strong problem solver with a commercial background.

You will feel comfortable with triage and prioritising ticket requests, remotely diagnosing and troubleshooting whilst ensuring that infrastructure and desktops are secure and operating correctly ensuring a cost effective, up-to-date, secure, and reliable service.

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in dealing with Windows Server infrastructure and networking whilst taking pride in providing an exceptional service and the ability to think logically and solve problems as part of a team or as an individual.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;


Service Management

  • To triage, prioritise and handle customer incidents and requests to SLA whilst maintaining good

  • communication with key stakeholders.

  • Ensuring that infrastructure and desktops are secure and operating correctly.

  • To establish a clear root-cause of incidents to eliminate the possibility of recurrence.

  • Contribute to an effective knowledge base to allow earlier resolution of incidents and more effective support for applications.


  Systems Management


  • Proactively manage and maintain the internal systems and tools such as but not limited to:

  • Servers and laptops.

  • Business and Microsoft applications.

  • Monitoring and alerting systems.

  • Network, Wi-Fi and firewalls systems.

  • Backup solutions.

  • Cloud subscriptions.


   Operational Management


  • Manage IT procurement

  • Maximize best use of TSGs assets (software and hardware).

  • Assist with business continuity planning and testing.

  • Ensure that all office technical facilities are kept up to date and usable.


   Knowledge, Skills & Experience;                    


  • Ideally educated to degree level

  • Microsoft Modern Device Management

  • Intune, Mobile Application Management

  • Azure AD, Autopilot

  • Office 365, Operating System Patch Management

  • Powershell, TCP/IP Networking, DNS, DHCP and SSL

  • Inquisitive:  Keen to investigate, learn and improve.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Detail-oriented: With the ability of being able to identify risks and issues and devise mitigations.

  • Positive: You identify improvements and engage with others to drive change.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ commercial experience in a second or third-line desktop support role within an ITIL aligned business.
